2011 Conference of the Americas
We are pleased to announce that the 2011 Conference of the Americas will take place in San Antonio, Texas, USA. The conference is scheduled to be held from 21 – 24 July 2011.

Featured speakers
Linda Darling-Hammond is the Charles E. Ducommon Professor of Education at the Stanford University School of Education, where she launched the School Redesign Network, the Stanford Educational Leadership Institute, and the Stanford Center for Opportunity Policy in Education.
Darling-Hammond is author or editor of more than a dozen books and more than 300 articles on education policy and practice. Her work focuses on school restructuring, teacher education, and educational equity. Prior to her appointment at Stanford, Darling-Hammond was the William F. Russell Professor in the Foundations of Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. Darling-Hammond was president of the American Educational Research Association and a member of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. She has served on the boards of directors for the Spencer Foundation, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, and the Alliance for Excellent Education. Darling-Hammond received her B.A. magna cum laude at Yale University and an Ed.D., with highest distinction, in urban education at Temple University.
Sharon Robinson is president and chief executive officer of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE). She is the former president of the Educational Testing Service’s (ETS) Educational Policy Leadership Institute. Before joining ETS, Dr. Robinson was assistant secretary of education with the U.S. Department of Education’s office of educational research and improvement. She also held a variety of leadership positions at the National Education Association (NEA), including director of the National Center for Innovation, NEA’s research and development arm, and she recently served as interim deputy director of the National PTA’s programs and legislation office. Dr. Robinson is a lifelong civil rights activist who received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Kentucky, where she also earned her doctorate in educational administration and supervision.
