Middle Years Programme (MYP)
HWIS welcomes you to a dynamic, challenging and holistic five-year programme designed to develop students into becoming globally active learners. Through our balanced curriculum, students explore issues that are of local and global significance making classroom learning relevant and engaging.
The 21st century brings young people new challenges different and completely new to what parents and adults experienced in the last century. The globalization and fast-paced development in technology will give rise to new opportunities and challenges in the future that we cannot predict now. We need to prepare the young for this shift. We need to develop creative and innovative problem solvers, critical thinkers and globally conscious individuals equipped with the valuable skills and attitudes they need to become competent and employable citizens in the future. The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) is an excellent programme designed to meet these challenges.

MYP Programme Model
As an international school, our students currently represent 23 countries with about 20 spoken languages. The diversity of culture, religion and color bring together equally diverse experiences, perspectives and opinions. In HWIS, we tap into this richness, celebrate the diversity and commonality, and more importantly, value the uniqueness of the individual.
Our small class sizes allow deep personal interaction between students and teachers. Students are given opportunities to engage in a wide-range of activities and explore new ones whether within school or outside the school. Community and Service (CAS) becomes an integral part of their experience throughout their MYP life. In their final year, students are given a week of work experience and engage in a year-long personal project.
We warmly welcome parents and students who are 11-16 years old who want to be part of the MYP and experience a new way of classroom teaching and learning in a safe and welcoming environment.
