I’m Aya Shalaby a mother to a lovely young
boy who is my life. Teaching and opera singing are what I do for living. I’ve
been heading departments seven years before I arrived to Changchun and I’m an
opera singer. I have great passion for both my jobs and enjoy both equally from
different aspects. I believe that every one of us could be talented and gifted
in many different fields. I consider myself lucky to have discovered my talents
and skills early enough and accordingly decided to study in both directions to
nourish my teaching skills and singing talent.
I graduated from one of the best schools in
Cairo. It’s the German School (DEO). Afterwards I joined the Faculty of Art
German Section in Cairo University for 2 years and then decided to switch to
the Cairo Conservatoire major opera singing minor Piano, from which I got my
Bachelor’s degree in Music. And that decision was based on the fact that I
already had one of the highest certificates in German Language which is
"Das deutsche Sprachdiplom 2. Stufe" and didn’t feel that the Faculty
of Art German Section will be of any addition to me.
I’ve been teaching since 2004 and singing
since 1998. I gained great experience in both fields and I’m still learning.
Each new school year I feel I’m on more solid grounds then the year before and
each performance I do on stage I try to improve my singing performance and
avoid prior mistakes.
I master three languages Arabic of course,
German and English. I have some French background and Italian too. I’m looking
forward to accomplishing my Master’s degree for I’m sure of what great benefits
and additions it will have on my teaching skills and my entire career.
